Seth Blackshaw - Figure Legend

Cone Photoreceptor Mosaic in the Dorsal Mouse Retina – Horizontal view of a flatmount retina from an adult C57BL/6 mouse.  The outer segments of middle (M)- and short (S)-wavelength sensitive cones are immunostained with M (green) and S (blue) opsin antibodies, respectively.  Photoreceptor nuclei are immunostained with an antibody against PIAS3 (red), a transcription co-regulator and E3 SUMO ligase.  The immunofluorescence of PIAS3 in M cones is three times higher than that in S cones. Contributed by Akishi Onishi from Seth Blackshaw lab.
